As we all know, Internet advertising is a multi billion Dollar industry – so why not bite into that cake as well?

Selling ads for your web site!!

Are you out there selling your products?
 Do you have printed materials that get out dated?
 Expensive media ads that is hard to monitor?
 And finding prospects that are too stressed to listen?

The questions immediately put my old selling skills kicked in – and my thought went running like crazy;

Asking the industry?
Asking stressed business managers?
Asking what?
Popping in to a shop and asking if they want to part with some money?

The thinking took me back to some selling seminar – and something about “Selling Condition” if we can call it that, but I believe it is an Anthony Robins thing.

Put people in the right “STATE” before you talk to them.
Set the situation and the thought process on the right path.

If not – your dead in the water before you even opened your mouth.

Why do you think “Cold Calling” is such a dreaded job because you talk to the wrong people, at the wrong time, about the wrong things and they are therefore not in a “STATE” to listen to your proposal.

We have been communicating through E-mails for quite some years now, but actually – that’s outdated too.

Today we communicate through web sites.
Advertising is short and simple: visit us at blablabla.com!

We have blogging and RSS feeds!!!

And a stack of other “ON SITE COMMUNICATION FORMATS”.

How I can be so sure? – Because you’re reading this right now.)

We are stressed, we are on information overload – and the last thing we want is someone stealing our valuable time for their own promotion.

That is why:
"Verbal communication is an outdated – and sadly dying art!!!"

A long time ago I heard that when we talk to someone, they “receive” less than 10% of what we are saying. It was probably true – but I believe that low number is actually dropping drastically.


So, the Government do it, all major businesses do it, and increasingly small business as well.

GET YOUR WEB SITE TODAY IF YOU HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY TO ANYONE!!!

Always have your web address on a piece of paper (sometimes referred to as business card.) and all you need to say:
 Check out this site.
 Visit us at this address.

Have your website prepared to do the talking, if and / or when the prospect log in – then he have chosen the time himself and he is in the “STATE” to receive some information.

So, now we need to get a good percentage of our “listeners” (the ones that doesn’t hear what we’re saying.) to go to our web site.

But whatever your trick – keep it short. (That is: write your one sentence speech – and then cut it down a bit.)

“Want more revenue for your business?” – check these ideas.
“Do you want more customers?” – Here’s an excellent and cheap way.
“Do you want to save on your advertising budget?”

(In case you forgot already – we are selling advertising space on our web sites. The one sentence speeches will be modified to whatever product you are promoting.)


By the way, this exercise is not for your general business website, the page here is a dedicated landing page for your particular campaign. A page with a specific message and possibly a prompt for the visitor to request further information.

The outcome of this single page website is one only, for your prospect to request further information.

Well now you’ve put them in a “STATE” haven’t you, now they invite you to come and talk to them.

Might be a small percentage that get this far, but that’s totally depending on your approach, and the sales copy on your site. Besides, you only spent a few seconds giving your message, or sent a card with a sentence and a web address on it.

For me – it definitely beats spending 20 minutes in a shop or office talking to a brick wall – or worse still, being thrown out 20 times a day as a cold calling hawker.


So  -  JUST DO IT  -  Get your website-landing-page ready tody, get your one sentence speech well prepared. (try memorise it) and just get it out there.
